September 2007 Vogue magazine cover featuring Sienna Miller
Vogue is more than just a magazine. It’s claimed as a Fashion Bible. However, does every girl have to read it religiously?
The September Issue (2009) a brilliant production, featured the Editor-in-chief of the America’s Vogue, Anna Wintour. Wintour has dedicated her time and soul to the world renown fashion bible since 1988. Her iconic pair of sunglasses offers her resilience to the spotlight in this fashion fantastical wonderland. Apart from the blood and sweat throughout the entire production process in the headquarter at New York, every issue gives worldwide readers an eye-opening experience to witness beauty and lifestyle in it’s best forms. Imagination is the limit.
Wintour states, "People constantly make the mistake of comparing London with New York, Milan and Paris and that’s not what it’s about. London has its own fashion identity. You come here to find the next Alexander McQueen or John Galliano.”
Fashion journalism is legit, after all.
So, next time before telling everyone how much you like The Devil Wears Prada (2006), make sure you do understand that fashion is not just about melodrama, more so, a multi-billion industry. Truth is: turning every single page of Vogue, beside each piece of garment and accessory, there comes a hidden marketing strategy for advertisement.
Everyone needs to read a magazine that actually suits one’s age and income level. Don’t go cry like a baby when you flip through Vogue and find out you can’t even afford the Louis Vuitton’s key-ring in store. Don’t hurt yourself. Please understand what you want and pick the right magazine to become a faithful reader on a regular basis. Reading a good magazine brings a lot of benefits in the long run. It’s like feeding your soul with food for thought.
